Xavier Russell is an award winning Film Editor with over 30 years experience. Working in both drama, factual and arts documentaries. Winning the Prix Italia for the documentary - 'Vaughan Williams: A Symphonic Portrait' in 1984.
Xavier also edited the BAFTA award winning series - 'Howard Goodhall's Big Bangs' music series in 1990.
Xavier won a BISFA craft editing award for the corporate film - 'Excuse Me , But That's My Car' in 1987.
In 2019 Xavier picked up the 'Televisual Bulldog' award for 'Best Editing' on 'Killing Eve'.
More recently - 'Queen of Spain' a short film that Xavier edited picked up 'Best Short Film 2020' award
at 'The London International Short Film Festival 2020'.
Xavier has also edited acclaimed series such as - 'Zen', 'The Hour', 'The Musketeers', 'Dickensian', 'Cold Feet', 'Dr Who', 'Delicious', 'Strike Back', 'Killing Eve', 'The Witcher', 'Leonardo' and
'The Chelsea Detective'
Xavier recently completed editing two episodes of 'Three Pines' a new detective drama
series filmed on location in Quebec, Canada and starring Alfred Molina. The series is produced
by Left Bank Pictures for Amazon. And is due to be screened in the Fall of 2022.

Xavier is working with director James Tovell. A Lion TV Production for Netflix.
Xavier recently completed editing another Drama/Documentary - 'Masacre en el Valle de los Mormones'
which was edited in Lima, Peru with director Paul Wilmshurst. Pacha Films for Discovery Latin America.

Out now on HNE Recordings - 'Foghat - Road Fever -The Complete Bearsville Recordings 1972-1975'. The Box Set contains Foghat's first 5 studio albums, the additional CD
contains various singles, with mono and stereo edits. Foghat's best known song - 'Slow Ride'
currently features in the latest Tom Cruise action adventure movie 'Top Gun: Maverick'.
Xavier has has also delivered the CD booklet notes for a 3 CD Box Set
for North Carolina's finest - Nantucket. The band's first three albums -
'Nantucket', 'Your Face or Mine?' and 'Long Way To The Top' originally recorded for
the Epic label are now being reissued through Rock Candy Records in Spring 2023.
Xavier has just been signed up to pen the booklet notes for legendary melodic rockers AXE who were popular in the USA in the late 1970's and early 1980's. The band's first two albums'
'Axe' (1979) and 'Living On The Edge' (1980) originally recorded for MCA Records are being reissued by Rock Candy Records.

Keeping on the music theme Xavier has also edited and directed many music videos including: Elton John's Nikita and Andrew Lloyd Webber's - Phantom Of The Opera. As well as being a film editor Xavier for many years has been a freelance journalist for such publications as - Sounds , Kerrang! and Classic Rock Presents - AOR. Xavier also co-wrote - 'Metallica - A Visual Documentary' for Omnibus Press.
Xavier is a regular contributor to the rock magazine - 'Rock Candy', which is now
available in most good newsagents and bookshops both in the UK, Europe and USA.
