Xavier Russell is an award winning Film Editor with over 30 years experience. Working in both drama, factual and arts documentaries. Winning the Prix Italia for the documentary - Vaughan Williams: A Symphonic Portrait 1984.
Xavier also edited the BAFTA award winning series Howard Goodhall's Big Bangs music series in 1990.
Xavier won a BISFA editing craft award for the corporate film - Excuse Me , But That's My Car in 1987.
Xavier recently picked up the '2019 Televisual Bulldog' award for 'Best Editing' on 'Killing Eve'.
More recently Xavier has edited acclaimed series such as - Zen, The Hour, The Musketeers, Dickensian, Cold Feet, Dr Who, Delicious, The Mallorca Files, Strike Back and Killing Eve.
Xavier worked on Episode: 8 - 'Much More' , of Netflix's new action-adventure-fantasy
series - 'The Witcher' , starring Henry Cavill. Xavier worked with director Marc Jobst.
'The Witcher' is currently available on Netlix.
Xavier recently completed editing Episode: 8 of the final season of 'Strike Back', Xavier worked with director John Strickland. Currently Available on Sky.
Xavier is currently editing Episodes - 1, 3, 5 & 7 of 'Leonardo', on location in Rome. Working with directors Daniel Percival and Alexis Cahill . The eight part series is based on the life of Leonardo da Vinci. Leonardo is being played by Aidan Turner.
Xavier has also edited and directed many music videos including Elton John's Nikita and
Andrew Lloyd Webber's - Phantom Of The Opera. As well as being a film editor Xavier for many years has been a freelance journalist for such publications as - Sounds , Kerrang ! and Classic Rock Presents - AOR.
Xavier also co-wrote - Metallica - A Visual Documentary for Omnibus Press.
Xavier is currently a regular contributor to the rock magazine - 'Rock Candy', which is now
available in most good newsagents and bookshops in both the UK and USA.
