Xavier Russell is an award winning Film Editor with over 30 years experience. Working in both drama, factual and arts documentaries. Winning the Prix Italia for the documentary - 'Vaughan Williams: A Symphonic Portrait' in 1984.
Xavier also edited the BAFTA award winning series - 'Howard Goodhall's Big Bangs' music series in 1990.
Xavier won a BISFA craft editing award for the corporate film - 'Excuse Me , But That's My Car' in 1987.
In 2019 Xavier picked up the 'Televisual Bulldog' award for 'Best Editing' on 'Killing Eve'.
More recently - 'Queen of Spain' a short film that Xavier edited picked up 'Best Short Film 2020' award
at 'The London International Short Film Festival 2020'.
Xavier has also edited acclaimed series such as - 'Zen', 'The Hour', 'The Musketeers', 'Dickensian', 'Cold Feet', 'Dr Who', 'Delicious', 'Strike Back', 'Killing Eve', 'The Witcher' and 'Leonardo'.
Xavier recently completed editing two episodes of 'Three Pines' a new detective drama
series filmed on location in Quebec, Canada and starring Alfred Molina. The series is produced
by Left Bank Pictures for Amazon.

'The Chelsea Detective' a new four part detective series which Xavier worked on last year
with director Darcia Martin airs on the streaming channel Acorn TV from February 7th 2022.

On the music front Xavier was invited to narrate on a new Helloween song entitled
'Out For The Glory' which is the opening track on the band's
sixteenth studio album 'Helloween', now available through Nuclear Blast.
Xavier has just delivered the CD booklet notes for a 3 CD Box Set
for North Carolina's finest - Nantucket. The band's first three albums -
'Nantucket', 'Your Face or Mine?' and 'Long Way To The Top' originally recorded for
the Epic label are now being reissued through Rock Candy Records and will be
available in 2022.
Keeping on the music theme Xavier has also edited and directed many music videos including: Elton John's Nikita and Andrew Lloyd Webber's - Phantom Of The Opera. As well as being a film editor Xavier for many years has been a freelance journalist for such publications as - Sounds , Kerrang! and Classic Rock Presents - AOR. Xavier also co-wrote - 'Metallica - A Visual Documentary' for Omnibus Press.
Xavier is a regular contributor to the rock magazine - 'Rock Candy', which is now
available in most good newsagents and bookshops both in the UK, Europe and USA.
