Xavier Russell is an award winning Film Editor with over 30 years experience. Working both in drama
and factual / arts documentaries. Winning the Prix Italia for documentary - Ralph Vaughan Williams in 1984.
Xavier also edited the BAFTA award winning series Howard Goodhall's Big Bangs music series in 1990.
He also won a BISFA editing craft award for the corporate film - Excuse Me , But That's My Car in 1987.
More recently Xavier has edited acclaimed series such as - Zen, The Hour, The Musketeers, Strike Back, Dickensian, Cold Feet, Dr Who, Delicious and Killing Eve.
Xavier recently completed editing on 'The Mallorca Files', a new ten part crime drama for the BBC which
is being co-produced by Cosmopolitan Pictures and Clerkenwell Films. Due for transmission in
Autumn 2019 on BBC 1.
Xavier recently completed editing Episode:8 of Netflix's new action-adventure-fantasy
series - 'The Witcher' , starring Henry Cavill. Xavier worked with director Marc Jobst.
'The Witcher' is due for transmission on Netflix December 2019.
Xavier recently completed editing Episode: 8 of 'Strike Back', Season: 8, with director John Strickland.
Xavier is currently editing Leonardo on location in Rome. Working with directors
Daniel Percival and Alexis Cahill . The eight part series is based on the life of Leonardo da Vinci. Leonardo is being played by Aidan Turner.
Xavier has also edited and directed many music videos including Elton John's Nikita and
Andrew Lloyd Webber's - Phantom Of The Opera. As well as being a film editor Xavier for many years has been a freelance journalist for such publications as - Sounds , Kerrang ! and Classic Rock Presents - AOR.
Xavier also co-wrote - Metallica - A Visual Documentary.
Xavier is a regular contributor to the new rock magazine - 'Rock Candy', which is now
available in most good newsagents and bookshops in both the UK and USA.
