Xavier Russell is an award winning Film Editor with over 30 years experience. Working in both drama, factual and arts documentaries. Winning the Prix Italia for the documentary - 'Vaughan Williams: A Symphonic Portrait' in 1984.
Xavier also edited the BAFTA award winning series - 'Howard Goodhall's Big Bangs' music series in 1990.
Xavier won a BISFA craft editing award for the corporate film - 'Excuse Me , But That's My Car' in 1987.
In 2019 Xavier picked up the 'Televisual Bulldog' award for 'Best Editing' on 'Killing Eve'.
A short film 'Queen of Spain' that Xavier edited recently picked up 'Best Short Film 2020'
at 'The London International Short Film Festival 2020'.
Xavier has also edited acclaimed series such as - 'Zen', 'The Hour', 'The Musketeers', 'Dickensian', 'Cold Feet', 'Dr Who', 'Delicious', 'Strike Back', 'Killing Eve', 'The Witcher' and 'Leonardo'.
Xavier recently completed editing 'Christmas at the Snow Globe' with director Pip Broughton. Snow Globe is an Xmas pantomime written by and starring Sandy Toksvig. Filmed entirely on location at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre.

Xavier has just been signed up to edit 2 x 90 minute episodes of the new detective drama series
'Chelsea Detective', which is being produced by Expectation TV. Xavier will be working with
director Darcia Martin. Filming commences April 2021.

On the music front Xavier was recently invited to narrate on a new song entitled
'Out For The Glory' for Power Metal Kings - Helloween. The song will feature on the band's
sixteenth studio album 'Helloween' which is due for release on June 18th 2021.
A new single 'Skyfall' will be released on April 2nd 2021 on Nuclear Blast.
Keeping on the music theme Xavier has also edited and directed many music videos including: Elton John's Nikita and Andrew Lloyd Webber's - Phantom Of The Opera. As well as being a film editor Xavier for many years has been a freelance journalist for such publications as - Sounds , Kerrang ! and Classic Rock Presents - AOR. Xavier also co-wrote - Metallica - A Visual Documentary for Omnibus Press.
Xavier is currently a regular contributor to the rock magazine - 'Rock Candy', which is now
available in most good newsagents and bookshops in both the UK and USA.
